Book post – Little Brother by Cory Doctorow

I’m cheating here in a way, because our copy of this book hasn’t arrived yet, but if you go here you can download a copy and read it now.

Marcus is seventeen years old and already knows some tricks for getting around the intrusive security that pervades his life. One day, while playing a game with his friends, terrorists attack the Bay Bridge, and Marcus and his friends are picked up in a sweep by the Department of Homeland Security, the aftermath of which turns Marcus’ life upside down. As the DHS starts instituting even stronger security measures, Marcus tries to fight back.

This book is set in the not too distant future, but you can go to the author’s blog to learn how to do some of the tricks that Marcus talks about using in his quest to free his city.

Read this if you liked The Diary of Pelly D by L. J. Adlington or Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
